The Harry S Truman Regional Airport is located in Bates City, Missouri, about 31 miles east of Kansas City near I-70.

A major facility at the airport is general aviation airplane storage and parts reclamation services operated by White Industries Inc. Founded in 1956, the company is one of the largest and oldest suppliers to general aviation and commuter airlines of used airframe, engine, and avionics parts. The current inventory totals about 2,800 aircraft.
